About the Client

Klene Paks Ltd is India’s largest manufacturer and exporter of PP/HDPE woven fabrics/sacks, leno sacks, PP box strapping, HM/HDPE carry bag film rolls, HM/HDPE grocery film rolls, multi layer films and more.

Klene Paks is operating their business through 6 manufacturing units and 50 warehouses which are scattered all over India. The company has a production capacity of 60,000 MT per annum. The organization is accredited with ISO 9001:2015 certification and deploys world-class infrastructure.

The Problem

Klene Paks deployed a Lohia LSL 610 HF loom for their FIBC sheet production. This loom was powered by a legacy 3-phase induction motor and variable frequency drive (VFD). The set up had been in operation for several years, and was proving to be quite inefficient in terms of power consumption, meaning that power bills were becoming unnecessarily high.

The Solution

Viva Technology LLP was consulted, and took on the assignment of making the loom, motor, and VFD set-up more energy efficient.

After a careful study of the existing infrastructure, Viva recommended the following solution:

  • Replace the old Induction Motor with a new, technologically advanced Viva Technology 3-phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM)
  • Replace the old VFD with a new Fuji Frenic Ace VFD
  • Calibrate the 100 Hz PMSM to operate as close to the earlier loom speed as possible

The Outcome

The solution deployed by Viva Technology resulted in dramatic improvements to power and current consumption.

Here are statistics contrasting Before and After consumption figures:

Parameter Before After Reduction
Current Consumption 5.19 2.52 51%
Power Consumption 1.521 kW h 0.316 kW h 79%

The customer was extremely pleased with the results achieved, and has recommended Viva Technology’s consulting and implementation services to other businesses in the polymer industry too!
